Lisa M. Young, O.D.
Chicago Glaucoma Consultants is pleased to announce the newest associate to our staff: Dr Lisa Young, Optometrist.
Dr. Young is a native of Champaign, Ilinois. She received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated cum laude from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Subsequently, Dr. Young completed a primary care and ocular disease residency at the Illinois Eye Institute. In this additional year of training, Dr Young worked side by side with ophthalmologists in her patient care.
Prior to joining Chicago Glaucoma Consultants, Dr. Young worked in a multi-specialty medical practice and a large optometric practice. She has experience in clinical instruction with optometry students and ophthalmology residents. Drs Brown and Gorla first met Dr Young when she was instructing their ophthalmology residents at Rush University Medical College.
Dr. Young is a member of the Illinois Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, and is working towards a fellowship within the American Academy of Optometry. She continues to remain active within the optometric community along with continued interest in research. In her spare time you can find Dr. Young rooting for the Fighting Illini or traveling to Phoenix to visit her family and 2 adorable nieces. She is excited about joining the practice and is available for appointments in our Glenview Location. Her practice is focused on general eye health evaluations, contact lens fittings and managementof pre and post operative surgical care.
